Episode Notes for Ministry Encouragement Podcast – Episode 014_10-3-12

Rev. Jim W. Hollis, Proactive Ministries:

Introduction and Welcome:

Hello and welcome to the FOURTEENTH EPISODE of the Ministry Encouragement Podcast, an experience that will touch you at the point of one or more of your greatest needs, lift your life spiritually AND provide you with new Christ-empowered motivation to move fully into the JOY of discipleship and the ADVENTURE of ministry.  I am SO appreciative of you allowing me to share in your life today through this Podcast.

I am Rev. Jim W. Hollis, the Founder and Executive Director of Proactive Ministries.  This ministry has grown from a spiritual vision and a Staff of one – ME – to a ministry Staff of 21 today.  Proactive Ministries has provided ministry coaching and training to more than 900 congregations across North America since 1993.

In this Fourteenth Episode of our Podcast, I will be beginning a series focused on Relational Outreach Ministry.  We will be looking today at the particular area of, “How To Bring Friends To Christ.”  We will explore:

  • Life Realities in North America in 2012
  • A top myth today concerning a negative stereotype of Evangelism
  • Some other popular and less than positive views of Evangelism
  • A text from Isaiah 43:18-19
  • Finding Divine Directions for Serious Christ-followers
  • A scripture from Matthew 28:16-20; Luke 10:1-3; and Acts 1:8
  • Next we will expose two major MYTHS which are mere lies and refute them with the Truth
  • We’ll actually define the term, Evangelism.

Relational Outreach is one of the most important priorities for any Christ-follower.  While some may have a specific gifting for Evangelism, all disciples of Christ are called to share the good news of God in Christ with others consistently.  It’s my prayer that this Episode will encourage you in the joy and blessing of sharing the unconditional love of Christ with others you know as well as those you have not yet met.

Much of my ministry time is in training Christ-followers to share their faith openly, authentically and in caring ways with others.  It begins with prayer.  Next we find the courage to reach out and either initiate or pursue an already existing relationship with another person.  This is why Christ came – to seek and save the lost.  Christ wants to use each of us today to love others with Divine Love, opening

I would love to hear from you.  What are some of your fears and hesitations concerning bringing your friends to Christ?  Are there fears you are facing or are you reluctant due to the possibility of personal rejection?  You can email me your thoughts, questions or input at:   or at our ministry website: proactive-ministries
