Ministry Encouragement Podcast – Rev. Jim W. Hollis

Hello and welcome to the NINTH EPISODE of the Ministry Encouragement Podcast, an experience that will touch you at the point of one or more of your greatest needs, lift your life spiritually AND provide you with new Christ-empowered motivation to move fully into the JOY of discipleship and the ADVENTURE of ministry.  I am SO appreciative of you allowing me to share in your life today through this Podcast!

I am Rev. Jim W. Hollis, the Founder and Executive Director of Proactive Ministries.  This ministry has grown from a spiritual vision and a Staff of one – ME – to a ministry Staff of 22 today.  Proactive Ministries has provided ministry coaching and training to more than 900 congregations across North America since 1993.  Proactive Ministries is the sponsor of this Podcast today.

On this, the NINTH Episode of the Ministry Encouragement Podcast, I will be sharing about Leadership for us as Christ Followers.  Today we look at:

SIX Certain Steps to Leading Through God’s Guidance

These steps are:

1)    Leave the past journey behind – get going now!

2)    Trust that God has something incredible in store for us

3)    Claim being in God’s hands and know God will never give up on us

4)    Receive Divine courage and strength to lead

5)    Give everything to this – heart and soul

6)    Refuse to allow timidity or fear to win –God is stronger than any fear

We will closely consider the Scripture of Joshua 1:1-9, from the Message version of the book of Joshua, in the Old Testament to see these six steps to make it possible for us to lead through God’s Guidance.  If you can, locate your Bible, look it up on your smart phone, or just remember the Book of Joshua, Chapter 1:1-9 so you can refer to it later.

Another major area in this ninth episode is:

4 Vital Strategies for Growing Excellent Ministry Leaders

Strategy 1: Replace “mere volunteerism” with spiritual recruiting and prayer discernment

Strategy 2: Pastors serve as Pastors and Laity are the ministry strength of the local church

Strategy 3: Minimize meetings and Maximize mission & ministry resulting in changed lives

Strategy 4: Bring in excellent, common sense, Biblical training with tangible accountability & encouragement
